Reusable Non•Paper Towel FAQs

Are Reusable Non•Paper Towels worth it?

The honest answer: It depends.

There are many factors to consider, including your lifestyle, your environmental concerns, and your budget.

Reusable Non•Paper Towels will save you money in the long run, since you can wash and reuse them hundreds of times.

With a bit of planning and organization, Reusable Non•Paper Towels can be just as convenient as disposables, and work much better.

Of course, there is also the environmental impact: Our Reusable Non•Paper Towels are made from 100% cotton flannel, or organic brushed cotton, meaning no trees were harmed in their production ☺️

So if you are willing to make a small adjustment to your routine, you will save money, decrease waste, and lessen your carbon footprint.

For us, it is absolutely worth it.

What is the difference between Single-ply, Double-ply, and Organic Brushed Cotton Reusable Non•Paper Towels?

The Single-ply is our most versatile Non•Paper Towel. It is large enough and absorbent enough to handle your everyday cleanup, and not too thick or bulky to keep a few on hand in your purse/pockets. They are also designed to fit on any standard paper towel holder, and pairs perfect with our custom kraft tubie. Yes, tubie. It's more fun to say it that way :)

The Double-ply is thicker and more absorbent. Twice as thick, in fact, though the dimensions are a bit different. Made from 2 layers of flannel, they are for more heavy duty cleaning. It also makes an excellent dish cloth or wash cloth.

And last, but certainly not least, is our Organic Brushed Cotton fabric. It is a bit thicker than the Single-ply flannel, but not as thick as the Double-ply. It is, in our humble opinion, a very luxurious and elegant fabric, and makes for lovely dinner/cocktail napkins. Plus, it has the added benefit of being made from 100% organic cotton.

How many sets of Reusable Non•Paper Towels do I need?

How many sets of Reusable Non•Paper Towels you need will depend on a number of factors, including how often you are willing and able to do laundry. We like to have lots on hand, because we don't want to run out before laundry day! The number of people in your household (and how many of them are kids!) will also have an effect on your usage.

Keep in mind that Reusable Non•Paper Towels are more durable, absorbent, and work better than disposables in pretty much every way, so you will find yourself using them in situations you wouldn’t have used disposable paper towels!

How do I care for my Non•Paper Towels?

Our Non•Paper Towels can simply be machine washed with like colours and tumble dried, or hung to dry.

Don’t use fabric softener or dryer sheets as this will decrease absorbency of the fabric!

Wash before first use. Non•Paper Towels will become more absorbent after a few washes.

You may notice some lint shedding from the fabrics at first, but his is normal for fabrics made from natural fibres.

It will take about 2-3 wash cycles to fluff up the fabric and remove any loose lint fibres.

Like all fabrics made from natural fibres, expect some shrinkage and slight pilling.

Will my Non•Paper Towels shrink?

Like all fabrics made from natural fibres, expect some shrinkage and slight pilling.

Is it okay to wash with fabric softener or use dryer sheets?

No! Did you not read the care instructions?? Please don’t use fabric softener or dryer sheets as this will decrease absorbency of the fabric.
